The Perfect Sonos Accessory for iPod & iPhone

New from Sonos, Sonos wireless dock. With this wireless docking system you can play all music that is stored or playing on your iPod or iPhone in all the rooms where you have Sonos.

Simply dock any supported iPod or iPhone and play your tunes all over the house on your Sonos System. Browse and select music either from your docked iPod or from any Sonos Controller. The Sonos wireless dock sends your digital music files wirelessly to the ZonePlayers throughout your home without ever converting to analog like most conventional docks. This improves sound quality from the iPod to the speaker, insuring you get the highest fidelity sound. It is also a quick charging dock, supporting Apple's 1Amp charging specifications. It has an auto play feature. Dock your iPod and the music automatically continues playing on any selected ZonePlayer or group of zones. This is a great accessory for your Sonos system.

AED Cares About Your Secruity

We want you to know about a helpful hint when it comes to you monitored security and your home owner's insurance. Some home owner's insurance company may have a false alarm coverage clause. Some insurance providers will cover the charges if you have a false alarm with your security system for emergency fire or police response. Check with your insurance about receiving reimbursement for false alarm charges. Most likely no deductible will apply to the coverage.

Also, did you know that you may receive a discount off your home owner's insurance for having your security system monitored? Often times you discount will be more than the yearly charge for the monitoring. That's like getting an extra service for free! What a better way to keep your home and family safe at no extra cost.

Our Security vs. Theirs

So I have looked into ADT just to see what the competition does. I thought I'd let you know what I found out or tried to find out. They always seem to have these "great" deals but you have to read the fine print and hopefully you can understand it.

Their "deal" at this time:
Pay $299 and get $200 cash back if you order over the Internet. Monitoring per month starts at $42.99 (they say $1 a day but I didn't see that in the terms and conditions). And don't forget the $25 connection fee. With that you have to enter a 3 year contract and they maintain ownership of the equipment.

Our all-the-time rates:
All the equipment, installation and set up is $400. You own the system. You can choose to have it monitored or not. If it is not monitored, and you arm the system it will still sound an alarm if tripped. To have it monitored with us it is $228 per year which equals $19 per month. You enter a one year contract.

The Breakdown:
Over 3 years you would pay:
ADT - $1671.64 (or $1219 if it is a $1 a day)
AED - $1084.00

Sure you have to pay us a little more up front but in the end you have saved $587.64 and you own your system with the option of monitoring.

Earth Day

What are you doing for earth day? One of the things I am doing is opening up the shades and turning off the lamp on my desk. I would be planting my garden but alas, I'm working. Earth day is all about planting trees, picking up trash, recycling, and of course, cutting down on energy consumption. According to CNET, plasma TVs, on average, consume about 2 to 3 times more energy than their LCD counterparts in the tests they ran. However overall an LED backlit are the most energy efficient and they look great too. So if you are thinking about a new TV and are wanting something energy efficient, the LED is the way to go. We carry the LG fully backlit LED TV, the 47LH90 which won CNET Power Saver Award in July 2009. Give us a call if you are interested in this energy saving TV.

3D Technology in Your Home?

When I think of 3D, I think of getting those red and blue cardboard glasses out of my cereal box and watching the comic strip on the back of the cereal box pop out at me. Things have really changed. And are still. Coming up in the next year you will be able to have the 3D technology you see in the movie theater in your home. Many major brands are slated to release this technology on LDC and Plasma TVs later this year. DPI is going to be offering a 3D projector for your home theaters. Most manufacturers are not giving pricing on this upcoming technology. Though, Mitsubishi and Samsung will be offering "3D ready" sets that will cost the same or not much more than their "regular" counterparts. Although they require an external box to create the 3D effect. And then there is the price of the glasses. Most manufactures require active glasses that start at about $100 each. Of course with 3D, you have to have everything to make it work, Blue-ray will be releasing players and even channels on TV in 3D format. Sports is a target media and there is word that the Discovery Channel will be releasing a 24/7 3D channel.
